BASEMENT

Extreme water damage in basement of residence. A leak in a bathroom fixture flooded the basement resulting in profuse fungal contamination on all surfaces requiring extensive remediation. A Pre-Remediation Benchmark Mold Investigation quantified the scope of the contamination and defined the remediation requirements.

CRAWL SPACE

A musty, moldy smell in the living spaces of this residence resulted in a Mold Inspection that identified fungal growth in the crawl space. The investigation identified the cause of moisture intrusion as being inadequate drainage around the residence. Moisture intrusion entered the crawl space by capillary action from soils adjacent to foundation walls causing high levels of humidity and subsequent wetting of structural wood. Fungal spores germinated on these wet surfaces and amplified into a profuse fungal contamination.

Construction Nail in Waste Water Pipe

A family lining in a new residence was beset with constant health problems. They finally noticed an odor in their kitchen that seemed to be coming from behind the cabinets. A Mold and Indoor Air Quality Investigation with destructive exploration identified that during construction a nail entered a waste water pipe in the wall cavity behind the kitchen cabinets resulting in extensive fungal growth and bacterial contamination. Mold testing demonstrated that fungal contaminants had spread throughout the large two story home.

CRAWL SPACE/BASEMENT

A concern for the health of family members resulted in a request for a Mold Inspection. The findings of the investigation concluded that excessive and prolonged exposure of the unfinished basement and crawl space to moisture resulted in extensive fungal contamination on all surfaces. Remediation of this condition was extensive and expensive.
