Construction Nail in Waste Water Pipe
A
family lining in a new residence was beset with constant health
problems. They finally noticed an odor in their kitchen that
seemed to be coming from behind the cabinets. A Mold and Indoor
Air Quality Investigation with destructive exploration
identified that during construction a nail entered a waste water
pipe in the wall cavity behind the kitchen cabinets resulting in
extensive fungal growth and bacterial contamination. Mold
testing demonstrated that fungal contaminants had spread
throughout the large two story home. |
